Just because the angels didn't "crumble" after Adenhart's death, Scioscia gets the Manager of the Year?!! C'mon, I know it was very sad what happened to Adenhart, but really, folks, life goes on. Plus, it was the very beginning of the year; you can't mean to tell me that 25 grown men couldn't get it together over the next 6 months apart from their manager?! Give me a break. They just hate to give the Yankees credit where credit's due - that's all this is about. They just hate to see the Yankees get everything in one season, even if they deserve it.


That is a quote from a yankees fan on foxsports.com article on the manager of the year winners. I mean, im just stunned. Stunned. Clearly, this dillweed has no idea what it is like to lose a family member. If you've ever been on a sports team, you know those guys are like family, and i really don't believe that it is different at the major league level. Yankees fans are just insane. They think that just becuase they won the world series with a team elmo could manage, that they should win every award? Let talk about cy young. EVERY post coming from a yankee fan was about how CC should have won. With what? That spectacular 3.37 ERA and 19-8 record? No sorry lets look Zach had a 2.16 ERA. Lets say that again and all together now. 2.16 Good, now, i hope they don't come crying when doesn't win MVP. After thinking about it thought, it doesn't matter cause they will just buy themselves who ever wins the mvp when he becomes a free agent. That is what the yankees do.

Mike clearly deserved this award for his work though the the adenhart tragedy. That in and of its self should be the only reason, but that is not counting the fact the angels had injuries all season long. There really isn't anything more to discuss in my opinion. I just can't believe how insensitive and blind these yankees fans are. I sure hope they know there is baseball OUTSIDE of New York.

Music Blog; Weezer, albums and more

Well it is finally time to write music blogs. Yesterday (sat oct 24) I went with my buddy Jamie to see Weezer live at the Hollywood Palladium. We got really good spots 2 rows back. I saw weezer at KROQ Weenie Roast in may and they were good then. What has changed? I didn't have to work. Weezer is one of THEE (gotta let the E ring out) best live bands ever. There are alot of things that contribute to it. Ill just name a few te kind get you the jist. The simplity of their songs, how catchy their songs are, how amazingly good musicians they all are, etc. Off topic: they best quote of the night, "Dude the Charlotte Bobcats are the next NBA dynasty." Some drunk dude next to us in line said that lol. But anyways everyone was singing along to all the songs. They were all jumping. Its just one of the amazing times you will ever have. I encourage everyone to see weezer at some point. You will come out saying wow. Moving on here.

Im going to talk about what i think is the best ablum of this year so far. Im looking at 3 candiates. Octahedron-The Mars Volta, Brand New Eyes-Paramore, and Swoon-Silversun Pickups. Octahedron is a great ablum cause it is soft, mellow, and bizzarre. Like ANY Mar Volta album, it just doesn't make sense. But, being the musician i am, the instrumentation is like no other. The excellent use of octaves to make dissonant chords, and well Thomas Pridgen. The mellow playing, goes well with Cedric's voice imo. That is what his voice is just meant to do. Next up is Paramore. I was convince for the longest time that this was going to be the best and it wouldn't even be a debate. Alas, it wasn't quite that good. Ignorance had me convinved this was going to a departure from the norm of Josh's guitar playing. His lead lines are are so insanely gay, it is unbelieveable. I was convinced he was going away from those lines. He did, but this ablum was more soft and was faster like Ignorance. That was my only gripe. Finally Swoon. This is far and away the front runner. Just the mix of fast and slow is perfect. Their songs are solid and catchy. Brian is a ewffect specialist. It is just a great album. I think is all.

Well it's been a great season.

Im sad to see us lose, but my god we had a good season. Whats makes this season special is our ability to overcome tradgey and pain. Nick will forever be remember in our hearts and minds. We did excellent work in overcoming that tradgey and work hard to remember him through baseball. That is why, imo this season has been a resounding success.

Why do we keep putting Fuentes in?

Im convinced that after tonights win vs. the Yankees, that the Angels should use Weaver as their closer for the rest of the postseason. Weaver came out in relief tonight and had a 3up 3down inning. Fuentes comes in and gets the first 2 outs, and then proceedes to walk or hit, the bases loaded, before finally getting Swisher to fly out with a 3-2 count! Looking at Fuentes stats for the batter he faced, 2-3 vs Cano, and Matsui. Swish was only 1-5 against him, but still doesn't it say something when your closer is not too good some of the leagues best hitters.

My argument for Weaver is that he has more velocity on his fastball, and more movement. It also helps that his delievery is unusual, and it causes deception. But whatever i guess we can't complain, cause we won. Ill see everyone on sunday.
